What is SmartCredit, and why do we use it?

SmartCredit is a credit monitoring service from ConsumerDirect, Inc. It's how Credit Repair Automate gets your TransUnion, Experian and Equifax reports, every month, in a format the scan can read. Here's what you're actually signing up for.

Credit Repair Automate software$0

If you already have a SmartCredit account, connect it during setup and use the software free. Nothing extra is charged.

Why the software needs a monthly report

Two reasons. First, to find errors the scan needs your actual full report from each bureau, not a summary or a score. The free reports from AnnualCreditReport.com are complete but can't be imported automatically. Second, to show you what a dispute changed, the software compares this month's report with last month's, item by item. That comparison is where you see "deleted," "updated" or "verified" for every dispute you sent. Without a refreshed report there's nothing to compare.

How the trial works

  1. Create your Credit Repair Automate accountFree, about a minute.
  2. Choose "Start SmartCredit trial" or "I already have SmartCredit"New users pay $1.99 for the first seven days.
  3. Verify your identity with SmartCreditStandard questions about your credit history, the same as any monitoring service.
  4. Reports import automaticallyWithin a minute or two, your three reports are in the dashboard and the scan runs.
  5. Day 7Your membership converts to $29.95 a month unless you cancel. Cancel from your SmartCredit account at any time.

Being straightforward about the money

SmartCredit pays Credit Repair Automate a referral commission when you subscribe through the app. That commission is the entire business model. It's why the software is free, and why we don't need to charge you a setup fee, a monthly fee or a per-deletion fee the way credit repair companies do. It also means our interests are aligned with yours in a specific way: you only stay subscribed if the software keeps being useful to you.

Frequently asked questions

Is SmartCredit the same company as Credit Repair Automate?

No. SmartCredit is operated by ConsumerDirect, Inc. Credit Repair Automate is separate software made by Visionary Strategic Solutions LLC. We're a SmartCredit affiliate: when you subscribe through our app, SmartCredit pays us a referral commission. That's how the software stays free.

Can I use a different monitoring service instead?

Not for the automatic import. The scan is built on SmartCredit's report format. You can use any service to view your credit, but the software needs a connected SmartCredit account to pull reports in.

How do I cancel SmartCredit?

Log in at smartcredit.com, go to your account settings, and cancel the membership. Or call their customer service. Cancellation is immediate and there's no contract. Your Credit Repair Automate account stays open.

Does a SmartCredit subscription affect my credit score?

No. Checking your own credit is a soft inquiry and never affects your score. Monitoring services pull soft inquiries only.
